Aurelia Moore - Justice Of The Peace, Precinct 1 Seat 2
As your elected official, I will be committed to serving the People of Precinct 1 by:

Pioneering a Teen Court
Through numerous observances of Teen Court in action, I have discovered that this type of format captilizes on the fact that our youth has historically and continues to communicate most effectively with each other. That is, through implementing Precinct 1's first ever Teen Court, we too can help our youth become more accountable by forcing them to deal with real life issues in which real live verdicts are delivered by a jury of their peers.

Establishing a Mentoring Program for Youths, Teens, and Adults
With over 17 years experience as a successful school administrator and educator working with At-Risk youth, I have found that many of the recurring issues, such as truancy, reckless driving, and disorderly conduct, though separate concerns, when one violation occurs, it is often a good indication that future violations will follow.  So it is my goal to not only provide programs that target specific age groups, but to develop programs that target all age groups, walking each child from pre-teen, to teenager, to young adult providing the necessary tools that would help that child successfully move through life, eventually becoming a contributor and not a menace to society.  I believe that implementing effective mentoring programs will address this need to teach, and reteach our future leaders.

Creating a Community Coalition
In my four years as a Fort Bend resident, my track record of involvement in the community has been a priority for me and my family. I believe in the concept of volunteerism, as well as the motto, "Don't talk about, Be about it."  Being a member of this community not only makes it my duty to get involved, but it is our duty to get involved with each other; and I am not afraid to lead the way myself.  I am currently serving as  the Community Liason for the Sienna Democrats Club; I served as Precinct Captain, Caucus Chair, and  SD 17 (Austin) Delegate, Recipient of 2008 Obama Fellowship, Former Cluster Leader for a mentoring program, volunteered with Shared Dreams, Scanlan Oaks Fun Run, Sienna, Missouri City, Elkins HS Softball, and Sienna Baseball leagues, as well as spear headed the Haiti Relief efforts for the community of Sienna Plantation.  Through my willingness to get involved and expertise in relationship building via collaborative efforts, together we can implement the necessary change to make our community even greater.

Upholding  the Law as  Prescribed
I am extremely proud to state that I am ethical, trustworthy, fair-minded, and committed to excellence. Although my background is not in law, these are all characteristics that will aid me in upholding the law.  As an educator and administrator, I am a quick study and confident that I will successfully complete the 80 hour training course that all newly elected Justice's of the Peace are mandated to pass whether they have obtained a law degree or not.  For over 17 years, I have successfully taught the necessary skillset to produce an abundance of engineers, doctors, as well as lawyers throughout my career. I have no doubt that I can interpret and implement the law as prescribed.
